Beat the Writers!

Fancy yourself a football pundit? Do you sit in the pub telling your mates what formation Sir Alex Ferguson should play, or who Arsene Wenger should start with? Do you have expert predicting skills? Well, now’s your chance to prove it!

The Football Writers’ Association has teamed up with leading digital agency Fast Web Media to produce a football predictions app that allows you to pit your wits against some of the top footy journalists in the country.

Among those competing are Des Kelly of the Daily Mail, Patrick Barclay of The Times, Shaun Custis of The Sun and Steve Bates, head of the FWA and Chief Football Writer for The People.

Each week, the eight writers will predict the scores of the forthcoming weekend’s football. The number of games they correctly predict will then be totalled up at the end of each week and they’ll be ranked in a league table.

By downloading the app, you’ll be able to keep up with each writer’s progress and, even better, you’ll be able to see how you compare. Just fill in your predictions for the weekend’s games and check out the results on Monday. It couldn’t be simpler.
